Are our cells made of stardust? Is the sky blue? Have we met before? Can you see the silver diamonds floating in the thick wet air? Doesn’t the dust form like velvet, a soft broken dry mud that feels like the ashes of my ancestors between my toes.
Moon Side, a self-portrait series shot in the fourth trimester following my second child’s entry to the world, as a photo essay explores experiences, expectations, understandings, questions, the unknown and the evolution of thought. In essence, like gravity and like our sleepy minds at night, it entertains the ultimate fall and return to nature, and for now the art and acceptance of ‘letting be’.
